Yes. Recipients pay $0 for the full 6-month engagement. Our services (strategy, execution, training) are valued at $30,000+ and provided pro bono. You may need to cover your own operational costs (hosting, advertising budgets if applicable, etc.), but our services are free.

We use a 100-point scoring matrix evaluating: mission impact (30 pts), need and fit (25 pts), readiness and capacity (20 pts), growth potential (15 pts), and story value (10 pts). Bonus points for veteran-owned, non-profit, Appalachian Ohio based, and other factors. Top-scoring organizations are selected.

You can still apply. Appalachian Ohio organizations receive bonus points in scoring, but we accept applications from mission-driven organizations anywhere in the US. Strong mission alignment and demonstrated need are most important.

Approximately 5-10 hours per month: reviewing deliverables, attending meetings, providing feedback, implementing recommendations, and creating/approving content. A primary contact who is responsive and empowered to make decisions is essential.

You become an Impact Program alumni with ongoing benefits: quarterly resource emails, alumni community access, annual gathering invitations, and 25% discount if you later want to engage us for paid services. You'll have all the tools to maintain momentum independently.

No. Marketing results depend on many factors. We commit to professional strategy, quality execution, and best practices - but can't guarantee "X donors" or "Y% traffic increase." Our goal is meaningful improvement in your marketing capacity and measurable progress toward your goals.

Yes, as long as you have genuine financial need and aren't currently working with a professional agency. Doing basic marketing (social posts, email newsletters) doesn't disqualify you - we look for organizations that need professional strategy and execution they can't afford.

Most pro bono programs are one-off projects or strategy-only consulting. We provide full-service, 6-month engagements: strategy + implementation + training. You get both the plan AND the execution. We also leverage AI tools to deliver more value faster without sacrificing quality.

Cycle 1 applications open January 1, 2026 and close January 31. Recipients announced February 28, engagements begin March 1. Cycle 2 will open July 1, 2026. Sign up below to be notified when applications open.

Absolutely. We'll provide feedback on why you weren't selected and what could strengthen a future application. Previous applicants receive bonus points in scoring for demonstrating sustained commitment.

About the Program

The Appalachian Impact Program is a collaboration between Alpha2Zulu LLC and Debbie Phillips Consulting LLC - combining AI-powered marketing efficiency with deep community engagement expertise.

Alpha2Zulu LLC is a veteran owned company. Alpha2Zulu Marketing is their marketing agency specializing in AI-enabled efficiency and expert strategy. Debbie Phillips Consulting LLC brings decades of experience in non-profit leadership and community development. Together, we created this program to support mission-driven organizations doing important work but lacking the resources for professional marketing.

We believe great missions deserve great marketing. By selecting 6 organizations per year (two cycles of 3), we can deliver meaningful, focused support that creates real results - not just plans that never get implemented.
